I've seen this scene many times and it just hit me like a ton of bricks that Avon, and by extension Stringer, Wee-Bey Slim and Cutty, the most seasoned veterans on the show, are only in their early thirties. Really highlights how low the life expectancy is in the game
The silence after Lester confirms its D’Angelo was one of the greatest theatrical scenes in the series.
“He is natural police” --Bunk 🚬
Loved Lester Freemon. He was real police.
The original old guys off brooklyn 99
Butcher knew avons father
100th watch here..laughing at herc in the background sayin something like "what do they want us to do, i don't understand"
These scenes in that run down building when they are all doing proper poe-leess work, are my favourite scenes in the whole series
Your hilarious spelling police like that 😂
@jasonboll9412 I know, thought I'd try something different. It's the way they say it in the show. I suppose po-lice is grammatically correct. 🤣
It’s interesting to me how Mcnulty didn’t bother going on the raid when he said all they will get is children, and Lester probably knew that as well, but he jumped on the chance to investigate the raided houses and gleamed the information. Shows how thorough he can be while showing McNulty as shortsighted
Over 20 years later and I finally get that Blues is Viagra 😂😂😂😂😂
"Fat Curt" was the best detective in the unit
Lester is what the word cool used to mean...laying low and doing your job without looking for praise
Those two old cops in the beginning are kind of like Hitchcock and Scully in Brooklyn 99.
Why are three subordinates educating Daniels on “exhaustion” when he has a law degree?
2:45 this dude was in season 4 beating up on Bubbles. I remember that face 😂
He should get all those cops salaries. Bunch of ain’t shit mfs in an office.
McNutty admired Lester but was also mad someone else may be smarter than him😅😅
Ah. Back in the day when the government had to have reason and cause to break your right to privacy.
Just realised the kid who offers him drugs before he goes in is the guy who bullies Bubbles in season 4
The moment when kima looks at Lester through the gap is one of my favorites in this show she realises lester is the real deal.
He’s natural Poe-lease
I loved season 1 man, the process and development of the case just sucked me in on the police side.
Every sequence we see of Lester doing detective work feels like an old-school neo-noir film.
I love that moment where he pauses at the top of the stairs to catch his breath just before entering the gym.
I love the look on Lester's face when the guy tries to sell him Blue Top. He's like "Kid, you're REALLY lucky I'm here for important business, or you'd be in cuffs."
The sin is not your own!
Natural pohlice
I remember watching The Wire for the first time. In the first episodes I thought Lester was another guy who doesn't do his job and stay silent in the corner. Then I felt as much astonished as McNulty was. It felt like the genius came out of nowhere.
The Hezbollah really tried to make the pager system work for them 😢
Guess this is the only thing you respond. Going back to X Elon said he's goin never remove our rights
4:14 What A Shot wow. Incredible visual presentation
I love the Wire, but one things that always annoyed me about the scene where Lester and McNulty are explaining the legal requirements for cloning the pagers and taping the pay phones, is that Daniels has a LAW DEGREE!
That's for us, but it grates, doesn't it?
The entire police department knew how smart I was!
McNully!!! Also that time Bubbles calls him McNutty!!! 😅
Dont you fuckin worry McNully!!!!!😢😅😅
But I noticed Bubbles is in the office when Lester gets back with the poster, if Bubbles is already there, they should know already who Avon was
I love how Lester gives both Jimmy and Kima a chance to give ;a pager number before he turned his in. Letting the younger cops have their chance to shine first. Classy detail.
The genius of this show is Bayliss saying you cant give every bastard what he deserves and then in the reunion movie, seeking absolution from Pembleton for doing just that
What an amazing show. No wonder it became The Wire. So good.
I love 6:26, as all of them just stare at him in awe, he gets embarrassed by the atmosphere and turns away. Perfect introduction to his character.
He wasn’t embarrassed dumbass you’ve clearly never seen the show. Lester embarrassed 😂 stupidest comment I’ve ever read.
That's not embarrassment, that's Lester swag
i aspire to be as cool as Lester Freamon one day
The Wire would almost be on sopranos level if it werent for the rare and awkward writing. The exposition on exhaustion is terrible, for example
This is how policing was in 2002. These days they don’t even need warrants to bug people
Just noticed the golden gloves aspect must have been dropped in later. Kima's final sentence about it in the beginning sounds different and it doesn't match up with her lips.
This is the typical TV Series trope that none of the detectives have a clue and one guy solves it all in 5 minutes.
It is Umar boxing club ?
Got Blu tops looking for blus😂😂😂
John Munch, RIP
He got a Stroke!
7:02 Mcnulty suddenly realises he's not the smartest person in the room
